Key to the future of the Egyptian Nation is the simple fact, the People there are not and never have been free. What will float to the surface of their m\u00e9lange might not be as attractive or desirable as \u2018Outsiders\u2019 hope will be.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nObama is characterised as one outsider determined to do away with the Old, in favour of the New. The same is true of Egyptian natives in Australia. Accustomed to the rule of law, such assume there must be no alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the case of Obama, despite the protestations of many, we feel he is a rabid Islamist at heart and secretly hopes for the worst possible outcome. He desires the Muslim Brotherhood to assume supremacy and implement Sharia across Egypt, with all that would imply for Arab Supremacists, Middle Eastern chaos and war.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is our view that Obama sees this as preferable to the status quo and preferable to any less drastic revision of Arab aspirations in the Region and Globally.<\/span><\/p>\n

So na\u00efve planned protests by Australian Egyptians turned into celebrations of joy as Mubarak stood down and left the nation to the Military, ostensibly. For Mubarak, it likely means little immediate change. His foreign investments avail him safe-houses far from harm and all the material comforts of home wherever he chooses to lodge.<\/span><\/p>\n

We now wait to see the dawning of popular understanding among those selfsame \u2018protestors\u2019 in Tahrir Square. They will have nothing less to protest about now that the old Regime no longer ensures stability and economic rationalism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now comes the likely rage as \u2018The People\u2019 discover it took all the energies of the Regime to hold up the fa\u00e7ade of normalcy presented to them and to the World.<\/span><\/p>\n

The individuals in Egypt who made Egypt tick, be it ever so clumsily, can afford to leave while without them, the starving masses still have nowhere else to go.<\/span><\/p>\n

It therefore matters not a scrap to the people whether they are governed by a Military Junta or an Islamist Junta. Suffering would be extreme and publicly justified.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the case of an Islamist Solution, the public justification would simply be that good old religious saw, \u201cThis is for the good of the Nation\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pogroms we know.<\/span><\/p>\n

None of this matters a scrap in fact.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obama thinks he has carefully placed himself in the Neutral Corner.<\/span><\/p>\n
